Vancouver, BC – The BC Lions Football Club announce the launch of an innovative new BC Lions app that will take you on a journey unlike any existing sports app in the Canadian marketplace.
BC Lions EXP is an app built from the ground up in conjunction with three key stakeholders: Perspective Films (360* VR video), QuestUpon (augmented reality, gamification, & app developer) and Radical I/O (app developer). The coordinated result gives Lions fans an app that delivers a unique perspective of their football club. This exciting new app will take the football fan’s experience with the Lions to a whole new level of engagement, with a blend of augmented reality quests and 360*VR video elements.
With quickly evolving technologies and an ever-changing sports landscape, a new app such as BC Lions EXP Powered by TELUS will assist the Lions in forging new territory amongst a younger fan base. It is not a typical ‘sports scores and highlights’ app, rather, it is an immersive and engaging experience. The level of innovation it provides will not only drive fan engagement, it will provide a multi-level touch point platform for marketing and empower partners to sponsor something cutting edge.

The BC Lions EXP app will enhance fan engagement and transport the fan into an immersive environment. Fans will be able to peek behind the curtains with 360* videos and engage the team through a dynamic perspective in augmented reality. Additionally, it will provide new opportunities to enhance the game experience with ways to reward or interact with fans in and out of BC Place in a way most fans have not seen before.
